I ran as fast as I could. The air filling my lungs never seemed to be enough. The tall grass was broken up by the wild flowers that had fought for their space in the meadow. The net that was high above my head was my guidon, my war flag. I charged over and over yet never quite reaching my goal. The bright wings fluttering uncomfortably in the calm air. Despite the fact that this creature was not the most graceful in the sky, this unicorn of the meadow eluded me again and again. I was smarter, faster and bigger than this insect, however it seemed to always be one step ahead of me. I stopped running, I just sat down where I was. I needed my lungs to slow down and taste the oxygen again. As I sat there looking into the wonders of the universe, my colorful objective landed on my arm with such dignity that all I could do was appreciate its grace. This little creature, this miniscule nothing taught me more about humility and humanity then any other being in my life.
